TECHNICAL ( COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)

1.Coding Soiving problems in C/C++
• 2 round event• Team: 1 or 2 Persons• Qualifying Round: - Objective Quiz- Duration: 60 Minutes• Final Round:- Participants will be given 4 programs.- They can code the programs in any language (C, C++,Java)- Duration: 2 hours.• Judging Criteria:- Participants will be submitting their programs to central complier.- It will automatically test the program & return the result.- Participants with max. correct programs wins.

Rules:
1-The first round would be judged on the basis of standard MCQ type cutoffs. 2-One question would comprise of four options. 3-For each correct answer one gets 4 points and for each negative answer one loses 1 point.4-The entry to the next round is on the basis of a standard cutoff one has to clear in each section.5-In the final round one has to attempt the coding of the challenging problems given to them.
2.Flash Event
• 2 round event• Teams: 1 or 2 persons• Qualifying Round: 1. Participants would be given 30 minutes to prepare a special flash banner (Topic would be given on the spot)
2. Participants have to display that flash in a compiled (.swf) file in a web browser.
3. They would be judged on their creativity and effectiveness. • Final Round: 1. The finalists would be taken on the preliminary round results.
2. They need to prepare an e-card.
3. They would be given a set of stock photos.
4. The theme of the e-card would be given to them on the spot.
5. Duration: 2Hours

• Judging Criteria:
1.Participants would be judged on the creativity, fun, innovation, production (graphics , sounds).2.They would be statically judged on the script they use.


Rules:
1-The first round would be judged on the basis of the banners made by the participants. 2-You would be provided with Stock Photos. 3-The software to be used is Adobe Flash CS3. 4-The basis of judging would be the presentation of the team.5-They would be judged on their creativity to a great extent.

3.Debugging Removing Errors in given set of Programs,C,C++,Java
• 2 round event• Teams: 1 or 2 persons• Qualifying Round: -One paper of objective type has to be solved by the team.- Time given would be 60 minutes.• Final Round: -A total of 10 programs would be given, coded.- They need to find out the error & correct them within a stipulated time of 2hrs.- They need to show the correct output.- Participants with max. correct programs and least time taken wins.

Rules:
1-The first round would be judged on the basis of standard MCQ type cutoffs.2-One question would comprise of four options. 3-For each correct answer one gets 4 points and for each negative answer one loses 1 point. 4-The entry to the next round is on the basis of a standard cutoff one has to clear. 5-In the final round one has to attempt the debugging the challenging bugs given to them. 6-The winners would be on the basis of most number of successful debugs in a time limit of 1hour.
4.External S/w Offsite Project can be presented
• 2 round event• 1 -3 members• Qualifying Round:- Teams have to submit a synopsis report on the software they are going to present.- The synopsis should be mailed latest by 7 Feb.- Only working stand alone application software would be welcomed.- Teams would be shortlisted on the basis of their reports submitted.• Final Round:- A maximum of 10 teams would be privileged to show their product presentation.- They would be required to give a 20 mins. presentation inclusive of the original product demonstration.• Judging Criteria:Teams would be judged on how creative is their idea on the software, its usefulness, feasibility and acceptance.
Rules:
1- In the prelims you only have to submit the synopsis of your software. Based on the evaluation of submitted abstracts, around 10 teams will be selected for the main event.2-The main event will be conducted during Genero ‘09. Judging will be based on evaluation of the audience and the judges' panel. The best teams will receive the Grand Prizes.The Preliminary Round 1- You have to submit an abstract detailing the features of your software. 2- The abstract should be in the following format: Abstract.pdf3- Mail your abstracts to genero@abes.ac.in. Subject Of the mail should be "SW_Abstract_ ".4- Clearly mention your Group members and Contact Information in the mail.Final Round 1- All finalists will be individually informed and invited to the main event.2- Each finalist team will be provided with a computer (Specifications will be informed later).3- Any other software required for the created software must be brought by participants themselves. 4- The teams will put up a presentation of their software on a projector provided.5- The judging team will include eminent professors from Computer Science Department & Information Technology Department, ABES Ghaziabad.

5.Web Designing Desinging a Website
The basic thing is to design a website on the given topic and provided web designing software's .the basic elements required for website designing are creative design, easy navigation , optimum performance ,client satisfaction ,usability .actually the craze for web designers is increasing day by day .there are many reputed companies like digital arts ,visual orange-a thailand web design and internet marketing company ,kyanite consulting limited ,j k digital solutions-a midland based website company .all these companies expect basic elements like1-Website Layout And Structure. 2-Colour Combination. 3-Easy Navigation.4-Interactivity. 5-User Friendly.And all those companies are paying 250$ to 400$ for beginners .this clearly shows there is a great future for the website designers .now a days a new source of income with no physical strain, Blog sites are started. So you can imagine where the world is going!!!
Rules:
• 2 round event.• Team:1 or 2 Persons.- Qualifying Round:- An objective paper of 30 questions.- Time allowed would be 30 mins.• Final Round:- A max. of 15 teams would be allowed for this round.- They need to prepare an online exam website.- Time allowed would be 2 hrs.- They can use any server technology (JSP or ASP).• Judging Criteria:- Teams would be mainly judged on their backend coding.- Extra points would be given for creativity and outlook (user friendly).
6.OS Debugging Operating system faults finding and its removal
• Each team consists of 1 or 2 members. • The event would comprise of any of the Microsoft based operating systems. • The 1st round would consist of basic knowledge testing of the participants in the field of PC bugs on the basis of MCQ`s. • Only the successful candidates would move into the final the main trouble shooting round. • The participants in the final round would be given some virtual troublesome problems to handle. • They will have to approach the bugs in their own way and destroy them. • The basic testing would be done on the basis of registry editing, drivers handling, and services handling. The field is wide so one has to be fully thorough in the understanding of the functionality of the computers.• JUDGMENT:-The judgment of the winners would be purely on the basis of the approach to the problems.-The team that attempts the most number of bugs or destroys it would be the winner.

7.Virus Removal Removing Viruses from infected system withOUT anti virus
• 2 round eventTeam: 1 or 2 Persons• Qualifying Round: - An objective question paper consisting of 30 questions.- A total time of 30 minutes would be allowed.• Final Round: - A maximum of 10 teams would qualify for this round.- Infected systems with approximately 15 viruses in each system will be given to you.- You have to remove these viruses without any antivirus.- You will be told beforehand what viruses are present in the system.• Judging Criteria:- Participants would be calculated on the time they take and no. of viruses removed.

Rules:

1. The question paper would consist of MCQ’s..2. Each correct answer would fetch you +4 and each wrong answer would result in -1..3. You need to clear a specified cut-off to qualify for the final round.4 In the final round the viruses are to be removed from the infected systems without the use of ANTIVIRUS.
5. Maximum of the viruses would be Command Prompt enabled.

8.H/W Trouble shooting Rectifing harware faults
• 2 round eventTeam: 1 or2 Persons• Qualifying Round:- An objective paper of 30 questions would be given.- The questions would be based on general H/W concepts.- A total time of 30 minutes would be given. • Final Round: - A max. of 10 teams would be there for this round.- Systems which would not switch ON would be given to teams.- You have to correct the systems from inside and bring the PCs to the OS boot point.• Judging Criteria:- Participants would be judged on how fast they correct the systems.
Rules:

1.The question paper would consist of MCQ’s.2. Each correct answer would fetch you +4 and each wrong answer would result in -1..3.You need to clear a specified cut-off to qualify for the final round.4.In the final round the systems are to be corrected by removing the problems associated with the hardware inside the CPU.
5. The systems given to the teams would be finally judged on the fact of the removal of all the problems and the PCs should be brought in the running mode.

9.Searches/Navigators Locating specific content on internet without using popular search engines
1 round event

• Team: 1 Person

• One Round:
- You would be given a total of 5-7 pictures (popular).
- All the major search engines would be blocked.
- You have to retrieve back to us the URLs at which the exact picture is available.
- Time allowed would be 30 minutes.

• Judging Criteria:
-Participants with max. URLs in minimum time win.

Rules:
1.The Pictures provided to the candidates would be popular enough. 2.All the major search engines would be blocked..3.You cannot use any other unblocking software for opening the sites.4.Use of any such means would be strictly penalized.

10.Photo Shopping Modification in the given image using Adobe Photoshop
• 1 round event• Team: 1 Person• One Round:- A start image and a final dithered image would be provided to you.- You need to go from the initial image to the final image showing all the stages.- A time of 30 minutes would be provided.• Judging Criteria:- Participant who finishes first in least time wins.

Rules:


1.The participants would be provided with both the images.2.The software to be used is Adobe Photoshop CS2.3.No extra tools can be used.4.Image cannot be dithered using any other software.
5.Usage of any such tool like paint, etc. would be not agreeable.

E-GAMING

MATCH FORMAT :

A “single-game match” is played in a single game and opposes two teams of five players. A game is played on one map in two half-times of 15 in-game rounds. For each half-time, teams play alternatively terrorist and counter-terrorist, and score one point by winning one in-game round. The winner of a game is the first team that has won 16 points. The winner of a match is the team that has won one game.

Players must agree to the following rules

1. Discrimination leading to unfair treatment of any individual is strictly prohibited.
2. Players agree to comply with these rules and regulations.
3. Players agree to accept the decisions of tournament officials.
4. Players agree to not use any unlawful or unfair proceedings.
5. Players agree to respect the spirit of fair play and non violence.
6. Players agree to not mislead or dupe tournament officials by any means.
7. Players agree to not interfere or communicate with other competitors playing an official match.

MATCH PROCEDURE:

1. If a For a match in “single-game match” the map choice must respect the following procedure:
2. Team A removes one of the 5 maps .
3. eam B removes one of the 4 remaining maps
4. Team B removes one of the 3 remaining maps
5. Team A removes one of the 2 remaining maps
The match is played on the map which wasn’t removed by the teams. The team A and team B are determined by a coin toss. The side is chosen automatically by the game server or by a coin toss. For overtime the team which ended as terrorist during the regular match has to start as terrorist again.
“Final MATCH will be BEST OF THREE MAPS”.

After the Match:

1. For a match both team captains have to report the match
2. scoretothe tournament officials and sign the report match paper.
3. After signing the report match paper a team can’t comeback on the scoreand ask for a complain .

PARTICULARS RULES VIOLATIONS :

The following actions are strictly prohibited during a game and will result in warning or sanction
1. Using console is strictly illegal.
2. Any form of script is forbidden.
3. Moving through walls, floors and roofs is strictly forbidden. This also includes skywalking.
4. "silent bombs" (i.e. the planting of a bomb which doesn't make a sound ) are illegal. Planting bombs so that they cannot be defused is illegal. This does not include plants where multiple Players are needed to defuse.

A player may be cautioned and be sent off if he commits any of the following offences:

- receives more than one warning
- is guilty of violent conduct
- uses any unlawful or unfair proceedings
- mislead or dupe any tournament official
- is not present at his match schedule
- violates a rule of this regulation

Some Important Facts :

1. If a match is involuntary interrupted (player crash, server crash, network cuts …) the tournament officials may decide to replay the match according to the following rules:
2. If the problem took place before the end of the first round for a player still alive in-game, the whole half-time will be replayed.
3..If the problem took place after the end of the first round, the half-time will be continued with the number of remaining rounds, and the scores of the interrupted half-time will be added to
the new half-time.
4. No compensation will be given for the money earned in game and lost due to the interruption of the game.
5. If one of the players crashed or is disconnected, he must come back as quickly as possible.
6. Using console is strictly illegal.
7.Any form of script is forbidden.

Pitch selection will be at random.
3. A toss b/w two players will be conducted for selection of a team.
4. The Final match will conducted be of 10 overs.
5 .Custom fields are not allowed.
6. Batsman timing gauge is allowed.

Players must agree to the following rules:

1. Player can choose whether he wants to bat with keyboard or gamepad, but bowling must be done by gamepad only.
2.Players are not allowed to edit the profile of the players.
3. Editing Field placements is also not allowed.
4.You have to choose the default fielding options.
5. Players are allowed to arrange and shuffle the team players.

Sketching

"In Black and White"

Draw a sketch based on a given theme using pencil only.

Rules:

1.Each team will be consisting of just 1 member.
2.The duration of the event is 60 minutes.
3.The sketch will be based on a theme.
4.Theme will be announced at the venue.

5.The participant can use only pencils for the sketch.
6.ONLY DARK (black) Pencils of different variants (HB, H, 2H etc) are allowed.
7.Participants are free to use assistance tools like sharpener, eraser and cloth.
8.Participant shall be only provided a drawing sheet of following dimension. The dimension would be 35cms X 55cms.
9.Participant must bring their own sketching materials.
10.Participants must reach at the venue ON SCHEDULED TIME. Participants reaching the venue LATE will get only the left out duration for their sketch.
11.Only winner & runner-up shall be awarded the prize & certificate for the event.

PICTURE PERFECT

Photography: click 5 photographs should be related to the fest only.

RULES & REGULATIONS:

1. The Photographs should be related to the fest only. •

Each participant will be allowed to submit only 5 photographs. No multiple entries will be allowed.

2. All the 5 photos should depict a particular theme. For eg. Happiness, winners, events etc.

3. All photos must be taken on the first 2 days of the event, i.e. 12th & 13th Feb ‘09.

4. The participants will have to submit their photographs in a folder with the participant details & their theme at the photography competition desk before 5 P.M on 13th Feb.

5. The photograph should be a digital one and should be transferrable to a computer.

6. The participants will be expected to have their own means of transferring the photograph to a computer (by means of USB cables, Bluetooth dongles).However we shall try and provide multimedia card readers and Bluetooth dongles for this purpose but we shall not be responsible for any compatibility issues that may arise.

7. The photograph may be taken with any device (mobile, digital camera etc).The photographs will not be judged by the standards of the devices with which they are taken.

8. Digital modification of the photograph (using Adobe Photoshop for example) shall be strictly not allowed.

9. The decision of the judges would be final and binding.

VIBGYOR

Rangloi: make rangoli using anything expect liquid colors.

RULES & REGULATIONS:

1. Each team will be consisting of just 1 to 3 members.

2. The duration of the event is 60 minutes.

3. Area provide for the rangoli would be 1meter X 1meter.

4. Participant must bring their own rangoli making materials.

5. Participant cannot use liquid colors.

6. Participants must reach at the venue ON SCHEDULED TIME. Participants reaching the venue LATE will get only the left out duration for their rangili.

7. Only winner & runner-up shall be awarded the prize & certificate for the event.

Painting-Without Brush:

"Kalpana"

Draw painting of your choice without using brush or any painting tool.

Rules:

1.Each team will be consisting of just 1 member.
2.The duration of the event is 60 minutes.
3.Participants have to bring their own colors.
4.Participants CANNOT use any painting tool, (like BRUSH, SKETCH PENS or PENCILS, CLOTH), except colors.
5.Participants can only use liquid and spray paints.
6.Participant shall be provided a drawing sheet of following dimension. The dimension would be 35cms X 55cms.
7.Participants must reach at the venue ON SCHEDULED TIME. Participants reaching the venue LATE will get only the left out duration for their painting.
8.Only winner & runner-up shall be awarded the prize & certificate for the event.

Face-Art:

Paint the face based on a theme of your choice.

Rules:

1.Each team will be consisting of maximum 3 members.
2.This will be 2 round event.
3.Participants have to bring their own colors.

4.Use of tattoos is not allowed.
5.Incase of any conflict the decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
6.Only winner & runner-up shall be awarded the prize & certificate for the event.

ROUND 1

1.The team will have to paint the face of 1 of the member in specified time duration.
2.The duration of this round is 60 minutes.
3.Participants have to bring their own colors.
4.Participants can use any painting tool.
5.Participants must reach at the venue ON SCHEDULED TIME. Participants reaching the venue LATE will get only the left out duration for the event.
6.10 teams will qualify to the final round.

ROUND 2

1.The team will have to explain the theme/concept they have depicted through the painted face.
2.Each team will be given 2 minutes for explanation.

1- In the group discussion 1 member per team as per choice of the team would have to participate.
2- Upon qualification in the group discussion,teams would secure entry into the second round i.e. debate.
3- In a group of 2, one participant will be for and the other will be against the given topic.
4- Each participant will speak for 3 minutes on the provided topic.
and 1 minute will be open for audience/participants for refutation.
5- The language will be strictly English.
6- The contestants will be judged on the basis of Content, Presentation & Body language, Vocabulary and Pronunciation, Cross-questioning to other participant and answering questions from other contestant and audience.
7- Negative points will be awarded for exceeding the time limit.

2- Upon qualification in the group discussion,teams would secure entry into the second round i.e. debate.
3- In a group of 2, one participant will be for and the other will be against the given topic.

and 1 minute will be open for audience/participants for refutation.
5- The language will be strictly Hindi.
6- The contestants will be judged on the basis of Content, Presentation & Body language, Vocabulary and Pronunciation, Cross-questioning to other participant and answering questions from other contestant and audience.

Triathlon(JAM+EXTEMPORE+TURN COAT)

"TRIATHLON"

Round:-2 round event

Qualifying round:-Group discussion.

Rules:

Round 1:-turn coat
1-The topic will be provided on the spot.
2-The participant will be given 1 minute for thinking, 1 minute for speaking in favour of the topic and another 1 minute for speaking against the topic. The participants will be judged on the basis of Content, Presentation, Transition, Diction and Body language.
3-The language will be strictly English.
4-Negative points will be awarded for exceeding the time limit.

Round 2:-J.A.M.
The topic will be provided on the spot.
Rules & Regulations:-
1- The J.A.M. will be held in groups of 5 participants.
2-As soon as a participant wants to J.A.M., he/she should say “JAM” and point out the mistake.
3-The speaker, if he/she believes there was no mistake, should keep on speaking.

Racing Tracks



1.

RC RACE

Each racer will get an opportunity to prove his/her grip on the asphalt, sand dirt while revving through banked turns and uphill and downhill thrill .

RULES & REGULATIONS :

1. Each team will be consisting of max 4 members.

2. Teams also have to specify the two members who will have authority to be in the circuit premises as the RC driver and the rescue man.

3. The event will be conducted in 2 Stages.

4. Stage 1 will be static Judgment where each team is expected to explain to the judges the method used in the construction of the vehicle, the hardships faced in the design process and techniques incorporated to overcome the problems faced.

5. Stage 2 will put the machine to test in the circuit in a race against time versus traction.

6. Winner will be announced based on the combined score of Stage1 & Stage 2

7. In case of any conflict the decision of the judges shall be final and binding

COMPETITION RULES :

1. A contestant will complete 5 laps for which the total time will be recorded.
2. The vehicle will be placed at the starting point and may be started by hand as directed by the judge.
3. Vehicle lying immobile during the event for more than 30 seconds will be declared as disabled and shall be disqualified.
4. In the eventuality of the vehicle going off-track or into sand or any similar untoward situation the driver will have 2 options for trying to recover the vehicle back on track, viz.: opt 1: keep the clock running while relying on his/her skill to get the vehicle back on track. opt2 : call for rescue and get the clock paused. Rescue man (assigned at the time of registration) will be allowed to restore the vehicle to the last cleared checkpoint from where the clock and race will continue.
5. Max of 3 rescue calls is allowed per race.
6. A vehicle that takes a shortcut shall be asked to be picked up and restored to the start point, also incurring a penalty of 10 seconds while the clock keeps ticking .

ROBOWARS

"ROBOWARS"

Participant team has to bring along a
self-made Mobile Robot which will have to compete against the opponent robot in a SUMO ROBOT TOURNAMENT.

REGISTRATION RULES & SPECIFICATIONS:

1.Each team is allowed to bring only one ROBOT as an entry.
2.Team must consist of a maximum of 6 members.
3.ROBOT should not weigh more than 3 Kgs at the time of entry into the competition
4.ROBOT should adhere to the following dimension criteria.
-Maximum (Length x Breadth) be 2.5 x 2.5 Ft.
-There is no height limit.
5.ROBOT can be both Tethered and Radio Controlled (wireless).
6.ROBOT can be self electric powered or can use an external power supply (IC engines not allowed).
7.As long as all other requirements are met, Robots can be made out of any material. They can use any type or size of electric motor or electric-powered locomotion. They can contain any kind of processor, electronics, sensors, or batteries desired.

COMPETITION RULES

1.Clash will be between 2 robots at a time.
2.COMPETITION RING will be 2M in diameter and will have small sized obstacles.
3.In the beginning of each match both the robots will be placed inside the RING at pre-defined locations where they have to lie stationary until the commencement of the match.
4.Each round will last for max 10 Minutes.
5.The robots try to avoid falling or being pushed out by the opponent robot. The first robot that touches outside of the ring loses the round.
6.ROBOT lying stationary during the event for more than 30 seconds will be declared as Disabled and shall be disqualified.
7.Participants are not allowed to physically touch or manipulate the robot in any ways that violates the rules of the competition during a match.

RESTRICTIONS:

1. Robots should not be employing liquid or gaseous propellants for any reason.
2. At all times, robot behavior must be non-offensive, non-destructive, and non-harmful to humans, robots, and the facilities. This is an immutable principle, even if the behavior is unintentional or not by design.
3. During inspection (and at any time during the event), the judges may require safety changes or other modifications to meet the harmlessness requirement. Harmful robots are either not allowed to compete at all or are later disqualified if potential harmful issues are proven or revealed in battle.
4. Robots must not:
• Emit smoke or fire
• Leak, stain, or soil
• Disperse powder, grit, or grime
• Use projectiles
• Jam, shock, or electromagnetically interfere
• Snare, entangle, or employ nets/rope Scratch, gouge, or scrape

5. Robots must not fly or generate lift to isolate themselves from the ring surface.

LINE FOLLOWER

"MYRMIDON"

Line-follower is an event in which a autonomous robot has to traverse a path between 2 predefined points in the minimal and without human intervention.

REGISTRATION RULES & SPECIFIACTIONS:

1.Each team is allowed to bring only one ROBOT as an entry. members.
2.The robot must be autonomous (all processing should be done on-board the device).
3.Team must consist of a maximum of 3 members.
4.There is no constraint on the following
• Motor, Gearbox, Battery
• Dimension, Weight, Wheels
5.Robot must be self-powered.
6.It is recommended to equip the robot with a convenient ON/OFF switch.
7.As long as all other requirements are met, Robots can be made out of any material.


COMPETITION RULES:

1. The line follower has to travel from Pont A to Point B on the line follower track as shown below. The track is about 1.5cms wide and black in color.
2. A contestant is allowed 3 runs with the best time being used as the final score.
3. For the start of each run the robot will be placed at a pre-assigned starting point (A) and may be started by hand as directed by the judge.

4. ROBOT lying stationary during the event for more than 30 seconds will be declared as disabled and shall be disqualified.
5. Participants are allowed to push or restore a robot which has deviated from the track by replacing it to the point where it had originally deviated. Doing so shall also incur a penalty of 5 seconds for each occurrence including the time it takes to place the robot.
6. A ROBOT that takes a shortcut shall be picked up and restored the point of deviation, also incurring a penalty.

HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICE

"COMMUNION"

Redefine the way humans take control of the PC by innovating a device.

Rules:

1.Each team will be consisting of max 4 members.
2.Teams have to bring an HID which can be a novelty or a modification of existing devices (mouse, joystick etc.).
3.The event will be conducted in 2 Stages.
4.Stage 1 will be a static Judgment where each team is expected to explain to the judges the concept used in the designing of the device, the innovation and its utility.

5.Stage 2 will be demonstration of the device on a computer system provided.
6.A few details of the computer system provided for demonstration in Stage 2:
• Teams are allowed to access USB, Serial, Parallel, PS/2 ports only.
• Teams are allowed to use any drivers which can run on MS 2000, .NET framework 2.0, JRE 1.6.
7.Teams with special software/hardware requirements are requested to bring their own systems.
8.Winner will be announced based on the combined score of Stage1 & Stage 2.
9.In case of any conflict the decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

Bomb Diffuser

First Round:

1. Each team would consist of maximum of two members (individual entry is allowed).
2. There will be quiz of 30 min. duration.
3. Selected team will qualify for second round.
4. Negative marking is applied.

Final Round:

1. Team will get 45 min. to analyze the circuit.
2. Only limited part of the circuit is allowed to modify. Rest of the circuit must not be interfered.
3. By modifying the circuit the team have to maximize the time of alarm, within the given time duration.

Note: Event is based on 555 timer and op-amp.

MicroProcessor Programming

"CHIP'D"

First Round:


1. Each team would consist of maximum of two members(Individuals entry also allowed).
2. There will be quiz of 30 minutes duration.
3. Selected team will qualify for the second round.
4. In case of equal marks, the team doing lesser wrong question will qualify.

Final Round:

1. Team would be asked to develop a program to meet the required output.
2. Teams are supposed to run their program on 8086 assembler kit.
3. Use of 8086 peripherals like 8253(counter) & 8255(PPI) are allowed.
4. Tasks may judge primary knowledge of electronics.
5. Judging of program would be based an execution time required.

NOTE:: Any discrepancy would be finally resolved by the jury members.

CIRCUITRON

The competition would be divided into two phases :-

ROUND 1 (Qualifiers):

Duration:-30 min
1-There would be a pool of objective questions configured on the basis of following topics:
- General Electronics.
-Digital Circuit Design.
- Application of Integrated Circuits.
2-Top 15 teams classified on the basis of Prelim round would make it to the Finale.
3- Due weightage would be provided to the scores of Prelims round in the Finale Scorecard.
4- Each team can comprise of at maximum two participants.

FINAL ROUND :

Duration:-2 hr.
1- The team is expected to design and implement a circuit over a breadboard.The task requires knowledge of Basic Electronics in general and following topics in specific:-
- 555 Timer and its versatile Applications.
- Operational Amplifier (OP-AMP) Applications.
- Digital Integrated Circuit Applications (e.g. Counters,Encoders,Decoders,MUX etc.)
2- In case of any discrepancy decision of the judging committee would be final and binding.

Each participant will be given set problems that will test his/her prowess and command over the fundamentals of MATLAB

ROUND 1 (Qualifiers):

1. Each participant will appear for a written quiz of objective type.
2. The duration of the quiz is 30 minutes.
3. Only Top 10 scorers of the Quiz shall qualify for the FINAL ROUND.

FINAL ROUND :


1. Finalists will be given 5 tasks which are to be performed in MATLAB.

2. The time duration for the FINAL ROUND is 90 minutes.

3. The task would be relevant to Image Processing, Mathematical Commands & Graph Plotting.

4. Judges shall inspect each solution achieved at the end of the round.

5. Teams may also be required to answer the judges’ questions about the MATLAB Tools etc.

ROUND ONE:-

1. Each entry can have maximum 2 participants (single member entries are also welcomed).
2. Round comprises an objective type test of duration 30 min.
3. Basic knowledge of gizmos and gadgets and technologies used in those devices would be tested in this round.
4. Successful teams will be cleared for second round.
5. Negative marking is applied.
6. Team with less wrong answers supersede in its mark group (priority resolution in case of equal marks).

FINAL ROUND:-

1. Performance will be judged on the basis of following criteria-
I. Clarity of idea.
II. Relevancy of that gadget.
III. Presentation style.

2. Practicality and relevancy of gadget in present contemporary world is of great importance.

3. Teams are expected to come with idea of innovative gadgets on which research is going on.
4. Time limit is 15 min.
5. Exceeding the time limit will deduct your grand total.
